The Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit “BHM” is meant to commemorate the rich African-American history and is celebrated by people across the United States, Canada and Netherlands. The event in question is the Black History Month, abbreviated as BHM hence the shoe’s sobriquet, that acknowledges and pays homage to those important occasions and individuals who left their footprints in the sands of time. It is a celebration particularly by the African Diaspora that was started sometime in 2016.

Air Jordan are not new to making stylish sneakers in honor of different holidays across the religious and ethnic divides and this time around the company sought to do something special for the BHM. And thus the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit “BHM” was born.
In the spirit of tapping into the rich African culture that is imbued with diversity in colors, these new jordans predominantly borrow the color coding that is synonyms with the Pan African flag.
The upper body is a true work of art with the vivid black Flyknit complimented gracefully by a laid-back lucid green that spruces up the entire heel region and a shade of red with green sparkling that livens the toe area. A trademark Winged NBA crest takes up residence within the overflowing green while a grey swoosh divides the heel partition right through the middle paving way for the black Flyknit to run on around the circumference.
The display is capped off in glamorous fashion by a slick Nike tongue tag that epitomizes the pan-African flag with its strips of black, red and green that beautifully coexist side by side. The label continues over to the interior where an elegant gold imprint that reads “BHM” stands out alluringly in the darkness.
If the upper body exhibition can be termed as spectacular, then the tri-colored rubber outsole doubles the superlative. The base encompasses two gorgeous design pattern variations on either half with a vibrant red front third and pulsing green shade stunningly sandwiching an endearing black that houses a Nike air moniker. The beautiful kaleidoscopic outsole display which threatens to spill over to white midsole is arguably the sneaker’s greatest highlight.
Simply put, they don’t come any more beautiful than the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Flyknit “BHM”.
