Forget the Air Jordan kicks for a while and focus on something that’s exclusively released under the Nike name. For this year, sneaker lovers welcome the release of the Nike KD 10 “Igloo” which is also Kevin Durant’s 10th signature shoe.
Nike KD 10 Igloo
Color: Cool Grey/Igloo-White
Style Code: 897816-002
Release Date: July 14, 2017
Design and Colors
The official colors for these kicks are cool grey and igloo white although it’s tough to see exactly where the igloo white shade comes in. At first glance, the Nike KD 10 “Igloo” is a combination of grey and mint green with the grey covering most of the shoes. It follows a fly knit upper with the mint green confined to the soles, therefore providing a contrasting look to the overall design.
The fly knit weave provides a very cool look on the shoes interspersed with clear patches of leather on strategic places of the body. This creates a variance in texture and adds a bit of depth in the overall design of the shoes.
The tongue follows the same cool grey pattern with the KD logo on the center. The KD logo is done in the same grey color, albeit with a darker shade to make it stand out against the background. There’s also the Swoosh logo along the quarter panel, this time done in mint green so there’s no way you can miss the design with one look.
What makes this Nike KD 10 “Igloo” different are the laces. Instead of being anchored along the edge of the opening, it is situated lower, practically reaching the soles of the kicks. Hence, you get a tighter fit for these shoes as the laces cover the upper half of the kicks. The laces themselves are done in the same cool grey coloring. There’s no question that the overall look is astonishing, but it can be problematic should you find the need to replace the shoelaces. It’s doubtful that the same exact shade will be available in stores.
The soles are mint green with a slightly transparent shade. Flip the shoes over and you’ll find that the bottom is adorned in whorled ridges that offers good grip even as it maintains simplicity.
The shoes should be available by July 14, 2017 with a price tag of just $150. Definitely cheaper compared to the typical Air Jordan shoes, this doesn’t mean that the kicks are less when it comes to quality. If you think that these kicks are the ones for you, make a point of reserving them now so you won’t miss out on this release. Of course, if you’re not feeling the cool grey Nike KD 10 “Igloo” with a dash of mint green, you can always check out what other items is due for release.
