Style and Design
Of course, Air Jordan wouldn’t be so wrong as to create kicks that have no other coloring but white since that would definitely come off as boring Instead, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG features a bold red logo that literally jumps off the white background, giving off its message loud and clear for anyone who cares to look.
As the name suggests, the shoes are high version, covering a significant portion of the ankles. The vamp is perforated and with no other contrasting color used, Air Jordan opted to boost these shoes’ design but improving on the depth and layering of the kicks. Hence, you can easily see the stitched and the use of multiple leather materials all along the body.
Fortunately, Air Jordan used the same layering approach to create the Swoosh logo along the quarter panel of the kicks. This makes the Swoosh rise above its white background, which is definitely a good thing considering how the icon itself is done in white. Clear and obvious white stitching can be found along the borders of the kicks, adding to the overall style of the shoes.
As mentioned, the only other color on the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Sail” is red and can be located on the center of the tongue, written in the classic Nike Air emblem. The material seems to be stitched onto the tongue and is beautifully depicted.
The laces are done in white and are of the flat variety, making them very easy to replace. With the overall white coloring of the shoes however, you might find it exciting to switch shoelace colors from time to time. This should add a bit of flair to the kicks if you want them to really stand out in the crowd. Extra red shoelaces come with the box.
The back portion of the kicks is clear and clean of any Nike logos. The same goes for the soles with their basic lines and ridges along the edge for that all-important grip when using the shoes.
