When it comes to classic Air Jordan kicks, the Air Jordan XXXI Low is definitely right there with the Bred model. This is why it is always good news whenever a brand new Air Jordan XXX1 Low will be out in the market.
Air Jordan XXX1 Low Pure Platinum
Size Run: Mens, Grade School
Color:White/Metallic Silver-Pure Platinum
Release Date:May 5, 2017
This year, the new kicks will be nothing short of gold. To be strict though – it is actually pure platinum with the signature silhouette covered in the most outstanding color this side of precious.
Color and Design
As the name suggests, the kicks are clothed in Pure Platinum. We’re not talking actual precious metal here though – just the color, which is good enough in our opinion. Every inch of the shoes is covered in platinum in one shade or another, so there is really not much to say about the color choice of the kicks. The official press release, however, is that the shoes make use of white, pure platinum, and metallic silver combination.
That doesn’t make it boring though – especially if you factor in the texture of the body. Instead of using just plain leather and leaving it like that, Nike decided to do something with the surface texture. They used what appears to be fabric material, creating fine thread weaves that feel like braids in your hands. This starts out on the vamp and slowly moves towards the heels of the kicks in a fading manner. As a result, the actual heels have a more traditional surface texture than the rest of the kicks.
The logos are the only thing different about these shoes. The Jumpman icon can be seen along the rear side portion of the kicks, beautifully dressed in a dark shade of platinum, allowing it to literally jump out from the lighter background.
There seems to be a Wings logo on the other side of the shoes although it’s not really clear from the images. The Wings looks like it’s embedded as part of the material so that it’s not as easily seen as the Jumpman.
The shoelaces appear to be more white than platinum – which is a good thing. When it comes to shoelaces, you’d want a color that’s easily replaceable.
Price and Release
All in all, Pure Platinum is definitely a legend in itself. Set for release on May 5, 2017, the shoes will sell for just $160. Considering their classic status, it is really a small price to pay to own this beauty. If they are not for you though – Air Jordan has more to offer this 2017!
