With all the love for the Air Jordan series kicking in, you might need some reminding that the Nike brand has a few releases this year independent of the Air Jordan line. One of the designs making the rounds today is the Nike Air Penny 4 with its black and white color combination.

It is safe to say that the Nike Air Penny 4 is uniquely different from all the other kicks made available in the past. You will either love it or hate it as the shoes offer a predominantly white front that tapers into black shading along the back.
The white coloring starts from the tip of the toe, running to the vamp and stopping just short of the quarter panel. It stands to reason that even the tongue is covered by the same sleek white leather with obvious yet minimal stitching.
What are interesting about these shoes are the underlying shoelaces. We say “underlying” because you can obviously see them there but there is a white covering that makes the center of the tongue clean and straight. It basically looks like a reverse design where the laces are placed at the bottom and the tongue at the top.
The black leather pattern moves from the quarter panel all the way to the heels of the shoes. Do not get confused though because the upper portion is still white so that the black leather is really just an inch-wide strip travelling along the kicks.
To make these shoes even more outstanding, you can find a buckle-like strip, we are thinking Velcro that helps further tighten the kicks along the ankle area. Of course, there is an obvious logo along the edge of the strip.
From the back, you can see the black leather topped with the Penny Hardaway logo done in a bold shade of red. The Swoosh icon is kept small and discreet along the side, this one done in white with a bold lining of red.
The soles are an art in themselves with a transparent red along the heels but white on the toes.
All in all, it’s a fitting tribute to Penny Hardaway who played for the Miami Heat, as you can see by the color combination. If you’re looking for something a little different in the market, this might be the one for you. Product cost is predicted to be at $160 with a release set for the 17th of April.
