Last year, in December, Sneaker News hinted about the return of two Air Jordan 14 colorways, the Air Jordan 14 “Oxidized Green” and “Indiglo.”
The year-end brought about the speculation of branded classics from Nike Air and Jordan Brand returning in retros in 2016. Now, it’s confirmed that two of the oft forgotten colorways will be having its official Jordan releases 2016.
Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green
Color:White/Black-Oxidized Green-Legend Blue-Metallic Silver
Release Date:July 16, 2016
Both the AJ14 Indiglo and Oxidized, also known as the Oxi Green, will be retuning this fall. The remastered versions of the pairs will take on a modern outlook. There’s much to see with the Oxi Green Air Jordan 14 given that it’s been a long 17 years when the pair made its debut. The original silhouette of the Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green had its first official release on February 13, 1999. For sure, longtime fans of the classic Jordan colorways will be the ones looking forward to when the pair would arrive in Fall.
But while the Air Jordan 14 Oxi Green is so named, White leather dominates the upper construction. The shoes also have a Black support that is wrapped along the shoe’s bottom. The Oxidized Green colorway can be seen on the shielded Jumpman logo placed on the side and MJ’s famed number, the “23” on the back. There’s also the hint of the Oxidized Green colorway on the outsole where another Jumpman branding sits and a circular tag reading “XIV.” The combination of the Oxi Green, White, and Black made for a pretty clean basketball shoe. The outsole also carries the standard herringbone pattern for better grip and traction.
It’s also notable that the Oxi Green Air Jordan 14 is – at present – the lightest Air Jordan pair. It’s sleek designed is taken after the Ferrari F355F1 of MJ, of course. The similarities can be seen on the shielded Jumpman bagde, the midsole air vent, and Rosa Corsa shank plate. The pair also has medial air vents, carbon fiber sheath, low-profile Zoom Air units, phylon midsole, and a quick and easy lace system.
Another thing that’s very obvious with the Oxi Green AJ14 is its minimal branding. Instead of the tongue, a Black little Jumpman sits at the end near the toebox. It’s a little thing you see spot on because of its dark color against the white background. There’s also another one placed on the Black insole. A white one was also placed above the number 23.
According to sneaker news, the Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green will officially release this July 16th for a retail price of $190.
