There was a time when Nike was considered an outsider. There were more established brands, and Nike was the newcomer. However, from the very beginning, it stood for something different. It had a different perspective and met different needs. One of these was the famous Air Jordan 1 which was practically banned from the NBA hardcourt. Every time Michael Jordan wore those red and black shoes, he was fined $5,000. e still wore them. Anytime you see the iconic picture from the 1985 NBA Dunk competition, which Jordan won, you would see him cradling the ball in one hand just before dunking the ball.
