Built to defy gravity, the legend of the new Jordans return with the debut of the Air Jordan XXX1 last July 20. A few days ago, we got news that another pair is already out there – the Air Jordan XXX1 “Black” PE.
If we thought that Jordan Brand ended with the Air Jordan XXX collection, then we’re wrong. The latest Jordan release dates we had this year have seen to the rise of the new Air Jordan 31. This time, it’s Russell Westbrook who gave us a new look for the AJXXX1 Black PE. So, is Westbrook the new face for Jordan Brand’s new collection? Might be. Just three days ago, on September 2, Jordan Brand and Russell Westbrook went to China for the Flight Tour. That’s where the basketball Superstar broke out in court sporting a silhouette of the Air Jordan XXX1 “Black” Player Exclusive that has never been seen before.
With the few pictures we’re given, the Black PE of the Air Jordan XXX1 looks much like the “Days of Flight” release of the Air Jordan XX8 colorway. Some of the similarities of the two lies on their Black flyweave features. They also have the same leather upper construction with a Triple Black combination. That is, the AJ31 Black PE is dark through and through its upper base, midsole, and even the outsole. The most notable feature of the pair is the Green accents found on the heels.
The star point guard of the Oklahoma City Thunders flaunted the triple Black-finish sneaker a little after the inauguration of the “Banned” which takes inspiration after the original Air Jordan 1.
As a PE, the Black Air Jordan XXX1 gets the signature logo of Westbrook right there on the tongue. With that kind of a personal stamp, wishing that the Black PE would be available in retail soon would definitely be a long time coming.
Of course, we can always hope for a retail release and wish that this silhouette will drop by soon. With Russell Westbrook flaunting this pair, spreading the hoops love from across the world would be a breeze. We may not be Westbrook but getting our hands on the RW-stamped pair would be an experience of a lifetime, right? Besides, Jordan Brand can always make it not exclusive for just one.
Given the debut of the Air Jordan XXX1 – a remarkable milestone for this year – we’re likely to see more color schemes fro the collection. Even without a complete list of Jordan release dates, we definitely bet that a pair or two of Air Jordan XXX1 would be on the roster. And who knows? Stay tuned with us and we’ll let you know if any more pairs get out soon.
