Sneakers are all the craze these days. Gone are the days when they were nothing but boring, white pieces of footwear. At this day and age, people actually read sneaker news in order to be kept up to date on what’s new and what is hot in the land of sneakerheads.
Take for example the Air Jordan 10s 24K Gold OVO. This is undoubtedly the new gold standard when it comes to sneakers. Interest in the Air Jordan line is high and is not showing any times of going low. People are on the lookout for Jordan Release Dates 2016 so they can be the first ones to snap up the latest iterations of these new colorways. The latest on the line up is a white edition of the Air Jordan 12 Retro in OVO which is slated to come out on July 30.
This is the newest in the very lucrative collaboration between the Jordan brand and Drake’s record label OVO. The latter of course is the rapper-songwriter who rocked the Jordan sneakers first in 2014. White, as the name implies, is a pair of white sneakers with gold accents. Orders are said to be through the roof for the July 30 release date. This lifestyle, luxury sneaker is great for fashionable get ups, but makers also said that it is perfectly okay to run, jump, and shoot hoops in it. Talk about shoes that are great for both work and play.
What Makes Air Jordan 10s 24K Gold OVO Special?
Recently, Drake posted a very special pair of Air Jordan 10s 24K Gold OVO on his Instagram account. This pair was solid gold and weighed over a hundred pounds. This impressive piece was created by Matthew Sena and is made of 24 karat gold. It was housed in a very special wooden case with the letters OVO across the top. Creator Matthew Senna signed the box.
It can be recalled that in February, Nike unveiled the Air Jordan OVO 10 line in order to celebrate Toronto celebrity Drake as he hosted the All-Star Game in Canada. Since then, a couple of versions of the OVO 10’s have come out.
This special edition pair has some of the most recognizable features of Air Jordans: the stingray leather; the OVO owl emblem at the insole; and of course the trademark Jumpman logo which can be seen at the bottom of the heel. The shoes are of course a tribute to the man himself, Michael Jordan, who is said to be the greatest basketball superstar of all time.
