Last year, Nike took the risk of releasing Quai 54 Jordans. The best thing about it is that the shoes became a success. To follow that up, another Quai 54 will be part of the official Jordan release dates 2016 – the Air Jordan 2 Quai 54.
Air Jordan 2 Quai 54
Size Run: Mens
Color:Light Bone/Metallic Gold-White
Release Date:July 22, 2016
The official unveiling of the Quai 54 under the Air Jordan 2 collection was done last July 8 by Nike Europe. It is quite fitting too given that the shoe is made in honor of the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship that is annually held in Paris.
The look of the new AJ2 Quai 54 is reminiscent of the Air Jordan 10 “Paris” given its gold design and off-white color. The shoes also sports several Quai 54 logos found on the insole and outsole. On the rear of the shoes, you would find a “P75” hit which seems like a reference to the city center of Paris. Sneaker finders who are looking to grab this shoe might get hard time getting their own pair goiven that it’s one of the most coveted releases this July 2016. Given that, you might want to queue in early just to secure yourself a pair. Rumors have it that Nike will start releasing the Quai 54 collection by July 9 but the Air Jordan 2 Quai 54 will officially hit stores almost two weeks later on July 22.
It’s not yet final but the AJ2 Quai 54 might become an exclusive release in Europe. If this happens, your chances of getting this pair becomes very slim to nil – unless you have a friend somewhere in Europe who’d do you a favor and buy you this pair. Let’s cross our fingers though and hope that it’ll be out on retail worldwide.
On a closer look, the Quai 54 Air Jordan 2 is predominantly done in an off-white upper. The lower portion of the shoes though is made with White premium leather. Suede graces the panels close to the tongue. The only accent you’ll find on the shoe is the golden accents used for the Quai 54 branding all throughout the shoes.
Given its White and Gold combination, the Air Jordan 2 Quai 54 looks much like the sneaker for champs. The insole itself features the official logo of Quai 54 with a text surrounding it: Quai 54 Streetball Championship. Jordan Brand also added golden heelcups and lace eyelets to give the shoe its luxurious flare. On the left side, you’ll find the “P75” branding. This is like a hint saying that the shoes will be exclusively available at the NikeLab P75 store you can find in Paris.
