Purple seems to be a favored color at this day and age – not exactly surprising considering how the shade is bold, brass, and fairly screams “look at me.”
The new Air Jordan 12 GS takes full advantage of this fact as it uses purple in all its glory for its new Jordans 2016 line. Dubbed the “Hyper Violet”, this particular colorway is settled for a June release and only available in GS size. Hence, if you happen to like these kicks but too tall for them, at least let your kid have this exquisite pair from Nike.
Air Jordan 12 GS
Color:Black/Metallic Gold Star-Hyper Violet
Release Date:June 18, 2016
The use of violet however isn’t done for the whole shoes. Choosing to pair a more modest color to the Air Jordan 12 GS kicks, the colorway uses black for most of the upper portion. The violet is confined to the soles of the shoes as well as the edging of the opening. A vertical violet line runs along the heels with the JORDAN stitching and the Jumpman to cap off the design. The number 23 is carved onto the bottom-center part of the heel as a nod to MJ’s number.
You can also spot the Jumpman from the tongue which is done in black. The iconic silhouette of Michael Jordan rests on the center of the tongue in small stitching of violet and the words TWO beautifully running along the tongue.
What really distinguishes these shoes however are the gold metal on the sides. Placed along the line of the laces, there are 4 distinctive gold plates that beautifully set off the black and violet combination. Without this, the kicks might look like they’re you’re typical every day shoes. With the gold plates however, there’s no denying the touch of class that comes with them.
To put some texture into the kicks, you will also notice some design on the black trim. A scale-like design runs along the sides, adding a bit of dimension into the overall look. This is definitely a plus since without this; you will basically get a plain black-violet combo without any distinction between the materials.
Reports promise a June 18 release with a price tag of $140. It is a little pricey for a kid’s shoe but you can be sure that the wearer will be the toast of the school with this trendy pair. It’s unlikely that an adult version of this will be available. Check out for more Jordan release dates 2016, just in case you want something more hyper than the Hyper Violet.
