Heads up for Jordan sneakerheads and fans: the next Air Jordan 5 Olympic is coming out – and it is rightfully dressed in Gold.
Just this May, sneaker news has been circulating about Olympic-inspired Jordan 5s. Right now, the news is no longer news. The shoe giant already has Jordan release dates 2016 for the Air Jordan Olympic. The White, Black, and Gold release will soon drop off in August almost the same time as the Rio Olympics 2016.
Air Jordan 5 Olympic
Color:White/Black-Metallic Gold Coin
Release Date:August 13, 2016
Given the occasion, the Air Jordan 5 “Olympic” definitely deserves its name. Avid fans of gold sneakers will also find the AJ5 Olympic a breath of fresh air from Jordan Brand since they will be ditching the traditional sneaker look. What this means is that, Air Jordan 5s might get more love than it usually does with the release of the Olympic. Why not, the latest shoes from Air Jordan will be sporting a prominent tongue dressed in metallic gold.
Whether or not you would be going to the Rio Olympics, you will definitely appreciate the aesthetic and design of the AJ5 Retro Olympic. Unlike other Jordan 5 sneakers, the Olympic is one of a kind since it stayed monochromatic – you won’t see a trace of the blue or red on the upper which is typical of Jordan 5s. The shoes upper is predominantly dressed up in white with hints of black for its accents. The midsole is also done in Black with some highlights of Gold. Of course, Jordan Brand decided to stick with the icy clear blue translucent outsole to give the Olympic AJ5 a clean and stylish look.
Up close, there are two Jumpman brandings that you’d quickly see on the Olympic. One is placed on the gold tongue while the other is clear and stark against the white heel. Both brandings are dressed in black. Another Jumpman can be seen on the icy outsole. But this time, JB decided to dress it up in gold. Of course, there’s also the flames/shark teeth design on the midsole with speckles of black to break the modest and clean color of the Black, White, and Icy Blue combination of the shoes.
Considering that it’s an Olympic-inspired sneaker, the combination of the Black and White colorways seems odd when paired with Gold. But knowing Jordan Brand, they might pull it off for their Air Jordan 5 with this new Olympic sneaker. As a general release, the Air Jordan 5 “Olympic” will officially hit Jordan Brand stores on August 13th for a $190.
