Jordan releases 2016 promise several Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG models so don’t be confused if there are different pictures bearing the same name. All things considered, the Metallic Navy model isn’t exactly an eye-catching colorway – but that is exactly what makes it a classic design. It is actually a bit confusing how Nike decided to ignore lots of the metallic colorways from the 80s but as this new model’s re-release, there is hope for the 80s shoe fan yet.

The kicks are primarily done in white with the metallic navy set as a finishing along the edges of the shoes. Creating a bright dark blue tinge, it sets off the whiteness of the body, creating that futuristic-classic we all know and love.

The tongue and laces are both done in white with pockmarks along the trim for sufficient breathing space. The lining of the shoes adds to the overall dimension so there is really no necessity to use other colors in making the kicks more distinguished. To pump up the Nike logo, the tongue sports a Swoosh icon on the center with the NIKE words on top – a classic positioning for the global brand.

The Air Jordan wings are placed along the ankles, also done in metallic navy colors. A large swoosh icon is on display on the sides of the shoes, further adding to the distinctiveness of the colorway.

As for the soles, Air Jordan decided to go simple with the OG model. The soles are primarily done in white with a simple navy lining that is supposed to be the outsole. It is a very faint line that is hardly noticeable if you are standing on a dark surface.

All in all, it is a pretty good model combining two classic colors that’s set to turn the colorway into a favorite among traditionalists. They are the kind of kicks you can wear anywhere. Of course, the metallic sheen puts a bit of ‘va va voom’ into the whole thing but for the most part, they are a silent pair of sneakers that looks great casual.

If the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Metallic Navy isn’t to your taste, there are always more where that came from. Just check out the other releases through Sneaker News and take your pick among some of Nike’s best.
