One of the most iconic Jordan releases 2016, the Air Jordan 10 “Rio” is part of the Brazil City Pack. At this point, you have probably heard of the City Pack line released by Air Jordan, paying homage to some of the most noted cities in the world, this time focusing on the right culture that is Brazil.
Air Jordan 10 Rio
Color:Wolf Grey/Photo Blue-Obsidian-Green Glow
Release Date:May 7, 2016
At first glance, you would have a hard time associating these kicks with Brazil. Taking a good look at the design, however, you can see the word “RIO” proudly emblazoned along the side of the kicks. Done in wolf grey, obsidian, photo blue, and a green glow design, it is easy to see how these shoes can be a classic, reinvented by Nike for years to come.
Once you get used to the Brazil-inspired theme, however, you would realize that the shoes are actually a nod to the colors of the Brazil flag. Done mainly in white, the silhouette lends beautifully to light colors, creating depth and texture between the different partitions. The tongue and eyelets are done in dark blue that extends all the way to the mouth of the shoes. The laces are done in blue as well, allowing it to blend beautifully with the top portion. This helps create a seamless flow that is very pleasing to the eyes.
The soles are done mainly in black with obvious markings at the bottom. Using the yellow, green, and blue colors vertically running under the shoes, it is a shame how Nike decided to put the pastels at the bottom – considering how very few people would actually notice this when worn.
The Jumpman logo proudly sits at the bottom of the shoes, done in solid yellow. The same logo can be seen along the heels, this time done in blue with the white background making the design even more striking.
Sneaker News has released images of the Air Jordan 10 “RIO” from practically all angles so you should be able to easily decide whether you want these kicks or not. Even better, other models of the Brazil City Pack are available for your perusal. Just in case you are not enamored with the RIO version, you can be sure that there are other models available for use.
As for RIO, this pair is available for release on the 7th of May with a price tag of $190 which pretty pricey for an Air Jordan, but definitely worth it. There are currently five City Pack models including RIO.
