There could be a good reason for the older crowd to be a little envious – it is because of the new Air Jordan 6 GS release returning with a “Cool Grey” color.
Air Jordan 6 GS Cool Grey
Release Date:May 21, 2016
More of a fact than a rumor, Sneaker News gave sneakerheads and fans a heads up for more retro Jordan releases 2016. Of course, the collection of AJ6s is part of those much awaited releases, especially after a preview of the cool and newest Air Jordan 6 GS release. At first glance, the GS colorway looks to be straying from the typical OG territory as far as Jordan Brand is concern. Nevertheless, the leather and nubuck suede combination of Black and Grey gave the AJ6 GS a reminiscent look of the Bordeaux which has been released under the Air Jordan 7 collection.
Not long after, the shoe was officially given a Jordan release date which will be on a Saturday, May 21st this year. As an Air Jordan 6 release, the Cool Grey pair would have been a very much awaited sneaker drop except that the only wearers who will enjoy the shoes are grade schoolers.
Made exclusively for the grade school fans of Jordan Brand, the newest GS release is a retro version that is predominantly made of black tumbler leather and grey nubuck. The two materials makes up the upper of the Air Jordan 6 GS Cool Grey and is only set off by the Jumpman branding dressed in white lending it a silvery shimmer from a distance. The same color tandem also appears on the midsole while a translucent icy blue outsole completes the look of the shoes.
Up close, you would actually see that the Black premium leather is used as overlays on the Cool Grey suede upper. The toe box and panels are also draped in grey nubuck wiith the White Jumpman sitting pretty on its customary place on the tongue.
Originally released during the time when Michael Jordan was still on his journey with his very first NBA Championship, the Air Jordan 6 collection is pretty popular because it was the first shoes to sport the modernized branding of the Jumpman instead of the customary Nike Air logo. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 6 shoes have become a big part of Jordan releases over the years.
Sadly though, older fans of Jordan Brand cannot do much but envy the little ones who would get the chance to wear an Air Jordan 6 with an almost similar design with a past Air Jordan 7 release.
