Since September last year, rumors have been flying around and about the return of the infamous Air Jordan 2 Low Chicago. Almost a year later, the rumor mill ran again saying that the said release for the AJ2 Low will drop on March 1 this year as part of the Jordan releases 2016. The last part of the statement proved real. But according to Sneaker News, the Chicago Air Jordan 2 Low will be back on the shelves by the end of May on the 21st for a retail price of $160.
Air Jordan 2 Low Chicago White/Red-Black
Release Date:May 21, 2016
It will be a third time around for the Air Jordan 2 Low given its very first debut in 1987, return in 2005, and again this year, 2016. So far, the Chicago AJ2 Low will be the first remastered sneaker for the Chicago colorway lineup set up by Jordan Brand. A lot of fans and sneakerheads are hopeful that the retro version of the shoes will be close as much as possible to the look of the original release. This is just to say that a lot of them do not look forward to oddly-shaped pairs which were seen during the sneaker releases of the mid-2000s.
As it is, the Air Jordan 2 Low Chicago is a pair of white lifestyle sneaker that looks very stylish with its minimalistic accent using the Chicago Bulls-inspired color scheme. First produced in Italy with the help of Bruce Kilgore’s design, the Air Jordan 2 Lows is one of Jordan Brand’s classic shoes.
This May, the remastered pair will come in an all-white upper which is a mixture of premium leather together with a faux croc material. The eyelet of the shoes are also dressed in white while the Varsity Red accents is seen on the shoes upper separating the two materials used in the upper as well as part of the heels. Part of the outsole is also dressed in Varsity but is majorly white in color offset by a black midsole. The shoe’s collar is also dressed in black. For the branding, Jordan Brand decided to use the Varsity Red color to accentuate it against the white upper. Instead of the Jumpman, the Air Jordan 2 Low Chicago will sport the Wings logo found on the heel and the tongue.
For almost 20 years after its original release date, it would be really intriguing to see whether this remastered version of the AJ2 Low Chicago will get more love than its previous releases.
