Last year, Jordan Brand made some huge announcements regarding their retro Jordan releases for 2016. Why not, an announcement telling about the coming of eight new retro Jordans is indeed big especially for Sneaker News.
Air Jordan 4 Retro Dunk from Above
Color:Navy/Gold Leaf-White-Metallic Gold
Release Date:March 19, 2016
Highlighted on the upcoming release is the Dunk From Above Collection that will be sporting three new shoes that is slated for release this Spring 2016. The collection also takes the soaring theme which is reminiscent of Michael Jordan’s ability to freeze right on mid-air when he jumps on the court.
Another surprising element that the collection poses is that it will be sporting the return of the Air Jordan 5 Low with a white leather base upper and premium accents done in Metallic Gold. There are also some hints of Obsidian found on the tongue and midsole making it a pair that is sure to standout once it finally has its official Jordan release date on March 19.
But of course, it is the Air Jordan 4 Retro Dunk From Above which takes the spotlight. Labeled as the crown jewel of the collection, the Dunk From Above Air Jordan will go out with the classic gum outsole, a combination of navy and buttery leather upper and yellow Marquette-like highlights on the shoes.
Unknown to some, the collection are all produced with a unique twist in honor to actual plane features. That is, the Air Jordan 4 Retro Dunk From Above sports the Flight branding on the tongue. One of the trios, Air Jordan 1 High Nouveau, sports a shiny surface which is actually meant to imitate the look of flight goggles.
Up close, the Air Jordan 4 Retro Dunk From Above shows tan yellow eyelets and uses the same color on the inside of the tongue and the shoe’s liner. The midnight navy colorway dominates the leather upper base with white mesh overlays thrown in. The Jumpman logo is tastefully added in four places; the tongue and the insole sports the logo in metallic gold while the ones in the heels and the outsole are dressed in white. The gum bottom of the shoes stands as a lifestyle sensibility addition to the shoes with the white midsole as a finishing touch.
As part of a broken up collection, Jordan’s signature flight is definitely stamped on each pair. The Air Jordan 4 Dunk From Above would be available on all Jordan Brand stores worldwide and will retail for $190.
