Right on Sneaker News, Jordan Brand is likely to release rare kicks this year with some designed like never before. But of course, there are also the coveted pairs that are part of a much awaited collection just like the Spike 40 Jordans.
The pair of the first Air Jordan 40 made its debut last year in October where the shoe sported a white mesh upper, overlays of silver textured synthetic, speckled midsole, and an outsole in translucent blue. It was also revealed that while the Jordan Spike 40 is the latest sneaker to Spike Lee’s name, the kick was in truth inspired by a sketch from Tinker Hatfield’s vault who happened to have no hand in actually designing the shoes. Now that seems debatable, right?
The Air Jordan Spike 40 Ghost Green easily found its fame in the sneaker circuit with its New York Knicks colorways of blue and orange. A white and red colorway followed through in November and December has seen through the Black and Red version of the pair.
Now, Jordan Brand is proving that there are more colorways to come for the Jordan Spike and the latest Ghost Green looks to be the solid proof that they’re going big this year. The Ghost Green Jordan Spike 40 looks more traditional and sticks very close with the original Spizike theme with its colorways of Black, University Red, White, and of course, Ghost Green.
Just like the first releases of the silver Spike 40, Ghost Green sports a University Red mesh upper and do with black overlays of texture synthetics which are also catchy with its shine. The translucent blue outsole seems to be the standard and gone is the speckled midsole replaced with a white one accented with red. The Ghost Green color of the shoes is pretty apparent on the branding. The tongue gets a Ghost Green lining with the Jumpman logo on it having the same color which extends far into the insides of the tongue. There’s also the Jumpman logo of the same color in the insole and the famous Nike Air branding on the heel. The left tongue shows the words “Ya-Dig” and “BK” while the right one shows the words “Sho-Kuff” and “NY”.
The official Jordan release dates of the Jordan Air Spike 40 Ghost Green will be on February 12, which is just in time for the start of the All-Star Weekend.
