Air Jordan 4 Retro Dunk from Above – First of Three

The Jordan releases 2016 roster is livened up with the news that the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Dunk from Above” will be included in the list. Here’s what you should know about Dunk from Above: it’s not just one shoe that has this name. There are two others, which mean that there are a total of three “Dunk from Above” models out there, each one following a specific silhouette and colorway. For this, we’ll talk about the Air Jordan 4 Retro version which would be the latest release as of this writing.

To start off, the Air Jordan 4 silhouette is already a favorite in many circles. The colorway for the “Dunk from Above” under this silhouette borders on the classic with cool color choices of blue, white, and a dash of translucent brown. The eye-catching splash of yellow completes the look and creates that gravitating element to the kicks.

The blue covers most of the shoes, running from the trim all the way to the back. This isn’t your typical blue either – which actually makes the kicks much more interesting. The blue is softer – like the shade of casual jeans you find guys wearing outdoors. A lining of yellow creates a definition between one patch of blue to another, fine but distinguishable if you look at the kicks close enough.

A white mesh design can be seen in front and along the boxing in the laces. There’s a yellow lace-holder too, following the mesh pattern which stands out from the overall bed of blue. To top it off, the blue tongue sports a yellow Jumpman logo with calligraphy of the word “Fight” at the bottom. It’s important to note that the Jumpman icon is bigger than usual here and the yellow design makes it pop out even more.

The laces are done in blue and follow the basic flat-style. There’s also a yellow edging along the tongue and a curve along the heel portion. Speaking of heels, this part carries the Jumpman logo as well but done in rubbery-white. From the back, you can easily see that the bottom portion of the tongue is done in solid yellow with a 23 logo in the center. Although it’s obviously not seen when worn, this is a very important mark for the Nike kicks.

The midsole are done in classic white with an outsole edging of translucent brown. The two low-profile colors help the upper portion of the shoes really pop out. As for the price – we’re not sure yet. The Jordan release date is still on hold so just watch out to find out more. Speculation is rife, though, that it will released anytime this year.
