As the very first Air Jordan, Air Jordan 1s can be considered as a legend and an icon in sneaker history. Given its colorful and rich story to tell, Jordan Brand is now releasing another original for Jordan heads: the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Royal.
Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Royal
Release Date:October 7, 2015
Early this year, Sneaker News hinted that original releases of the Air Jordan 1s are slated to return for the holidays of 2015. The year marks the celebration of Jordan Brand’s 30 long and successful years in the business of providing Jordan heads and fans with cool pair of kicks inspired by Michael Jordan since 1985.
By February, JB has released the Air Jordan 1 Low “Bred” which was followed by the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG in neutral gray in March. There were a few other colorways that followed the said releases like the AJ1 lows in Cool Grey, Fusion Pink, and Space Blue but right now, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Royal is making its way back into the lineup.
So what should Jordan fans expect? The return of the AJ1 Retro Low OGs is a return to sentimental glory as the pair will be sporting several features that made Air Jordan 1s coveted like the famous Nike Air branding that you will find on the tongue.
The new Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Royal is indeed “royal” as it gets with its royal blue colors against the pure black leather upper base giving it a striking look. The shoe also sports a matching royal blue outsole with a white midsole breaking the monotony of the colors. As it is, the Nike Air branding is found on the tongue while the Air Jordan Wings logo is traditionally set on the heels of the shoes with a remastered sensibility. Aside from the black leather base, the shoelaces are also set in black so the pair gets a very clean and sleek look even when seen up close.
Compared to the earlier releases of Air Jordan 1s – except perhaps the Bred AJ1s – the rest of the AJ1 Lows released went for subdued looks. Somehow, the vibrant blue of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Royal is something that will make Jordan heads and fans drool and given that the official Jordan release date of the shoes is coming very soon, Jordan fans should really wait in line when the AJ1 Retro Low OG Royal makes it to Jordan Brand stores worldwide.
