If you ever happen to be a literal referee on the hard court or you feel like wearing something new and infamous from Jordan Brand, then the Air Jordan 11 IE Low “Referee” would be the perfect pair of kicks for you.
Air Jordan 11 IE Low Referee
Release Date:September 26, 2015
Back in 1996, the pairs of Air Jordan 11 IE Low Referee were designed originally for the referees of NBA. That is because during such a time, NBA referees are only allowed to wear sneakers with an all-Black colorway during the season, hence the name of the pair.
But after almost two decades since its original release, Chris Paul had broken another custom when he donned the pair in Las Vegas during the USA Basketball minicamp held there. Now it seems that the pair won’t stay exclusive to NBA referees anymore but will be making its appearance more often now that it is available in the general market.
Before its set release on the fall of 2015, rumors were already circulating about the potential release of the Air Jordan 11 IE Low Referee on the market. Sneaker News has been on it last week but now that the rumor has been confirmed, Jordan heads and fans now have another nice pair of kicks to look forward to from Jordan Brand.
Against their AJ11 IE “Bred” counterpart, the AJ11 IE Low Referee does not have a red sockliner and is accentuated only with the vibrant and bold red Jumpman logo found on the tongue as well as the alternating red highlights found on the outsole. The Air Jordan 11 IE Low Referee is dressed in a full black colorway in different tones with its upper make a combination of suede and leather that is typical to Air Jordans. On a closer look, the carbon fiber plate of the shoes sports a True Red detailing which can be seen from the side and from underneath the shoes. Overall, the “Referee” looks clean with a minimalistic take on design.
Officially, the Air Jordan 11 IE Low “Referee” will be making its debut on September 26, 2015 — the same release date set for the Air Jordan 11 IE Low Croc and the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low IE, on selected retail stores of Jordan Brand.
There is still more than a month to wait for the Jordan release date of the AJ Referees and so Jordan heads are advised to stay tuned for more updates and news of further shoe releases from Jordan Brand.
