The question is: is it worth it? Design wise – definitely. The Pinnacle is a classic from all angles. As you have probably guessed, this one comes after the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle “Black” and is meant for the other end of the spectrum. If you are not into black, the Air Jordan brand is going to catch you with this classic white coloring.
First off, the Pinnacle “White” is not completely white. It leans more towards a metallic-white-gold color combination with a texture that just pops out, even through internet images. There are several logos in play used by Air Jordan, the most defining one being the Swoosh design along the sides. The Swoosh is done in white too, but it is easily noticeable thanks to the added dimension on the logo.
The gold addition is what really makes this colorway defined. There is nothing like a few dashes of carefully placed gold to make the model stand out, starting with the Nike Air logo placed dead center of the tongue. The eyelets are also done in gold, plus this little lace locks with the unmistakable Jump Man logo. Along the sides near the ankles is the Wings logo – also done in flawless gold. From the back, you have got the gold plated “MJ23” design that runs vertically on the heels. Suffice it to say, the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle “White” carries all of the most defining logos of the brand.
All in all, the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle “White” is a flawless classic that managed to avoid blandness with the ingenious placement of gold metal. They are the kind of shoes you can wear anywhere at any place as well as at any time. It seems like in celebration of their 30 years, the Air Jordan brand went for a “timeless” look and they did not go wrong with Pinnacle White – or Pinnacle Black, for that matter. Also, they are only releasing this in three locations so be ready.
