At first look, you’d think: where exactly is the gold in this thing? From the side, the Jordan Westbrook 0 Cool Grey looks like it is completely grey with no hint of metallic gold white anywhere.
Jordan Westbrook 0 White/Metallic Gold
Colorway: Cool Grey/Metallic Gold-White
Style Code: 768934-002
Jordan release date: July 11,2015
The front view however gives you the answer to your question – and it’s not what you expected! The gold part of the Westbrook is found in the laces, about less than an inch in length with the words “Why” and “Not” beautifully embossed in the metal.
Other than that little piece of extravagance, the Jordan Westbrook 0 Cool Grey, Metallic Gold White is pretty much straightforward. Awarding a permanent silhouette to Russell Westbrook, this high-ankle Kicks features a clean cool grey look with some fashionable indentations along the sides. The trim looks to be of a different texture although shade-wise, there’s not much difference between the two colors.
The tongue, laces, and eye stay are all done in cool grey – even the Jump Man logo located on the center of the tongue. Instead of being stitched in place, Jordan’s silhouette is embossed into the grey which makes it easier to spot, compared to just being sewn in.
The white color is reserved for the vulcanized sole and stands out from the rest of the grey. There’s not much to tell about the outsole – it’s a straightforward white with no ridges or ribbing to speak of. The bottom is also a flat, basic version of white. Now, you might think that the Jordan Westbrook 0 Cool Grey, Metallic Gold White is pretty boring with the description, but this actually has all the makings of a ‘classic’. With no overt designs or garish colors, the Jordan Westbrook 0 Cool Grey is something that will never go out of style, regardless of how, when, and where you wear it.
Unfortunately, Sneaker News didn’t manage to get a hold of the back view of this Kicks. Based from the images however, the heel portion seems to be free and clear of another Jump Man logo, which suggests that the silhouette is only printed on the tongue of the shoes.
Right now, there are no reports on when the Jordan Westbrook 0 Cool Grey, Metallic Gold White will be out in the market or for how much. Considering how this is isn’t exactly a ‘regular’ release, there’s a god chance we’ll be paying for more with the Westbrook 0. The good news is that it has a classic look about it which means that you can use it for as long as it lasts – and all Nike models last very long!
