Most of the buzz went to the Air Jordan 72-10 but the Black Snakeskin is fast taking the spotlight. This particular Air Jordan follows the popular 11 silhouette with an exterior that deviates largely from Jordan’s classic leather surface.
As the name suggests, you have probably already guessed a snakeskin design to the Air Jordan 11. Most of the “scales” are found at the bottom of the shoe, running through the trim all the way to the heel. The upper portion features a breathable mesh with an equally black eye stay overlay that blends well with the dark laces. The Snakeskin is really black throughout with just varying shades of darkness, designed to provide additional texture to the overall look of the kicks.
The midsole is basic black in hue with the outsole looking more white than black and slightly translucent with some ribbing to make it more stand out. The tongue and interior of the shoes are black – as expected – and adds to the overall monochromatic theme of the design.
As for the ubiquitous Air Jordan logo, the silhouette of the Jump Man is right there beside the heels with the number 23 stitched in a simple font right on the back. This seems to be the only place where Air Jordan decided to deviate from their all-black ensemble. For one thing, the stitched logo is done mainly in gold while the number 23 is a simple white stitching pattern. Along the center of the laces, there’s also this cloth design with the Jump Man logo strategically placed for brand recognition.
What else? The bottom of the shoes is equally black with classic markings. There’s really not much else to tell about the Air Jordan 11 “Black Snakeskin” except that they are the second Air Jordan 11 releases for this year and that the silhouette is really excellent even though the colorway is a little on the bland side.
As for possible release date and the cost of the shoes, there is no news to speak of just yet. In fact, even the Black Snakeskin is still up in the air as the pictures circulating are pretty much all the same. There is no confirmation yet so people are asking: is this an unreleased sample? Is it custom? Are they just letting us see it?
