Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Pinnacle”
Release Date:May 30, 2015
One of the two exclusive shoes for the Air Jordan brand, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Pinnacle” gives you two options on which to choose. Sneaker News provides two different images of the same Pinnacle: white metallic gold and black metallic gold. In this article, you will find out more about the latter version to be released this year:
“Pinnacle” – Black/Black-Metallic Gold-White Design
Featuring a black snake skin exterior, this particular Pinnacle has a shiny sheen to it, making it stand out from the crowd. With the majority of the colors being black, the whiteness of the ribbed outsole really stands out when wearing the shoes outdoors. The Nike check mark logo is placed along the side, also done in snake skin black which actually makes it pretty hard to miss.
What makes this model really stand out are the gold plates strategically placed along different parts of the shoes. The most distinctive ones are placed right on top of the tongue, featuring a “Nike Air” transcript that shines well from the overall black design. The laces are equally done in black, but the aglet, eyelets, and eye stays have a hint of color gold in them.
On the heels, you will also notice gold plating – one displaying an MJ 23 mark while the other one has the year 1985 embossed on the gold. Obviously, you already know what these words mean in the MJ-verse. The last gold plates are found along the side, near the ankles of the shoes. They are the winged ball logo, equally placed on both outside ankles of the shoes, creating that final touch. All the gold plates are 24K so this is definitely an Air Jordan exclusive.
The bottom part displays pretty basic marking – no Jump Man logo here. You can tell that most of the designs are poured on the upper portion of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Pinnacle” with the bottom part mainly left alone.

The Jordan release date for the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Pinnacle” is on June 20 this year. That is the same day the white-gold-metallic version of the Pinnacle will be released so it is best to compare the two before making your purchase. As for price, both are available for $400 which is pretty expensive – but you will find that this is well worth the price, considering the once-in-a-lifetime design.
