In the latest sneaker news, the Air Jordan brand unveils the latest edition of the Air Jordan Series: the Quilted Blue. One look and you just know Air Jordan is taking the road untraveled with this particular shoe.
The Air Jordan 2 “Quilted Blue” is set to be one of the hottest numbers this 2015, especially if it is true that there will only be 800 pairs to be sold in the market. Unlike the “Pink Dinosaur” which is primarily pink but still has white / grey / black soles, the Quilted Blue is blue in every possible way starting from the soles, the exterior, the interior, and even the laces. The shade of the blue does not even vary, making the shoe stand out for its apparent affinity for bright blue. The only sparks of different colors you’d see would be red and gold – and those aren’t even easily visible.
The red is found at the bottom of the shoe, sporting the “Jordan” name of the brand as well as the little Jordan tag found inside the shoe. The insole is marked with a simple reference: Just Don – Beaverton, Italy, Chicago. This is the list of the Italian workshops that developed the Jordan silhouette.
The laces are gold tipped, adding a touch of expensive into the package. The quilted design is not exactly new, but the crisscrossing pattern translates to long-term use that wouldn’t easily succumb to wear and tear.
Although not released yet, the construction of the Air Jordan 2 “Quilted Blue” provides a good idea on how it would be like when worn. The upper portion is a quilt-stitched blue, a suede tongue, and an inner lining made of leather. Despite the incredibly new look to Nike’s approach on the Air Jordan, there’s no question that they managed to stay true to qualities that made them popular in the first place: comfort in wear.
Quilted Blue Release
Sneaker news reveals that there is no set date for the Quilted Blue’s release just yet, but hopefully – it would be within the first quarter of this year. Rumors reveal that the Air Jordan 2 “Quilted Blue” would be set for release in time for the 30th anniversary of the brand.
With no release date yet, we can only speculate on the price this fashionably sporty shoe will carry. Considering the possibly limited amount of Quilted Blue to be made – we’re guessing the cost would be a small fortune. Simply put, the Quilted Blue might just well be a collector’s item – another feather on the Air Jordan cap.
